Cornell University Class of 1938. John H. Davis graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He participated in ROTC and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi. After graduation he returned to Arizona and began working for the Phelps Dodge Corporation. In 1940, he was called to active duty with the 2nd Field Artillery Observation Battalion.
